Join pro photographer and Route 66 explorer Rob Knight to explore the “mother road” this October. We will be based in Winslow and Kingman, Arizona, putting us right in the middle of the action. The stretch of Route 66 through northern Arizona contains many of the most iconic spots that still exist from the heyday of American car culture. We will visit towns along Route 66 like Seligman, Oatman, and Williams, Arizona. Along the way, we will explore and photograph the roadside attractions that made Route 66 so legendary.

The workshop will combine field work and exploration with lab sessions. Rob has been exploring and photographing Route 66 for 13 years, and he will make sure you are in the right place at the right time for the best light and photographic opportunities. We’ll begin our preparations before we meet via check-ins on DerrickStoryOnline. Once we congregate in Las Vegas, our days will be filled with exploration, learning, relaxing, eating, and sharing.

Tuition

The workshop tuition is $1,395, which includes personalized instruction, on-location guidance, classroom sessions, breakfasts, final presentations, and access to derrickstoryonline.com where we will begin preparing for our adventure in October and use throughout and after the physical event has concluded.

The workshop will begin and end in Las Vegas, Nevada. The group will depart Las Vegas early on October 16. Participants are encouraged to arrive in Las Vegas on the 15th to avoid travel delays. The group will return to Las Vegas by 4:00 p.m. on October 19. 

How to Reserve Your Spot

A deposit of $250 reserves your space. Per the workshop cancellation policy, deposits are non-refundable. You will be invoiced for the remaining balance prior to the workshop.

What Happens After the Paid Deposit?

We’ll follow up with you confirming your payment and will begin the planning process. Lodging details will be provided with your receipt. Participants are responsible for booking their rooms at the workshop hotels. 

Cancelation Policy

The workshop deposit is non-refundable. Cancellation up to 60 days before the event will provide you with a $650 refund for fully-paid tuitions. There is no refund for cancellations within 59 days of the event.
